Grade 5 Scientist Case: The Air, A Gas Investigations

How does a scientist think about the investigations in the Air, a Gas section of the 5th grade Inquiry Project curriculum? In this set of videos, you‘ll see Dr. Lindley Winslow carry out some of the very same investigations that your students do. Seeing the experiences from the scientist‘s perspective will allow you to better listen to your students‘ ideas about matter and material and support their learning.

Dr. Lindley Winslow is a member of the Neutrino and Dark Matter Group at MIT. She is a particle physicist who focuses on answering the question of why there is more matter than antimatter in the universe.

Dr. Sara Lacy is a senior Scientist at TERC.
