In this Teacher Resources you’ll find background essays written to provide you with a clear description of the stages in the inquiry learning process, how writing and talking contribute to science learning at each stage, and how formative assessments at various points in the inquiry cycle can guide you as you plan next steps in your teaching. It will be up to you to see how inquiry, writing, talking, and assessing play out in the classroom contexts and content of each session in the curriculum.
